Gloria P. Ness (nee Prior) passed away at her home surrounded by her loving family. She was 88. Born in Newark she lived many years in Kearny before moving to Surf City (LBI) 20 years ago. Visiting will be on Tuesday from 2-4 and 6-8 pm at the Armitage and Wiggins Funeral Home 596 Belgrove Drive Kearny. Service Wednesday at 11 am in the funeral home.
Gloria, a proud Republican, was a very active citizen and frequently voiced her opinions at public forums to advance the quality of life and function of government for all. She was The Jersey Journal 1983 Woman of Achievement. She was a Girl Scout Leader for many years and helped to Co/found The West Hudson South Bergen Sheltered Workshop.
Wife of John T. Ness "Jack", she is also survived by her daughters Deborah Rose and Barbara Bozza. She was predeceased by her son in law Keith Rose and her beloved granddaughter Heather.
