James D. McIlroy, 97 passed away on Thursday, June 2, 2022 at Jersey Shore University Medical Center.

Although Doris and Jim and their firstborn, left Northern Ireland behind in 1951, Jim brought a bit of Ireland with him in his gorgeous Irish tenor voice and his love of soccer. Our family get- togethers were always enlivened by a fun “sing-song” and Jim spent many weekends watching the TV soccer channel. He was a dedicated member of The Ulster Club in Kearny and was a Past President. But he loved America from the moment his ship passed the Statue of Liberty in New York Harbor.
Jim is the beloved husband of the late Doris (nee Andrews). Beloved father and father in law of; James Greg (Barbara) Mclroy, Debbie (Blake Rubin) McIlroy, and Eileen (Tom) McKeon. Loving grandfather of; Kerri (Peter), Jamie, Kelly (Colin), Bret (Lauren), Brendan, Keith (Jess) and Trevor (Alexa). Also surviving are his great grandchildren; Helena, Hadley, Jonas, Devon and Mila along with his brother and his wife Jack (Vera) McIlroy.
