Angelina Di Tano died on November 23, 2013 in her home. She was 85. Lena was born on April 5, 1928 in Harrison, N.J. She moved to Kearny at the age of four and has resided in the same house since her childhood. She graduated from Kearny High School and retired from Prudential after 38 years of service. She was very active in programs at The Benstead Senior Center. Arrangements were by the Armitage and Wiggins Funeral Home in Kearny. Visiting will be on Friday November 29, 2013 at 9:30 am and Mass will be at 11 am in St. Anthony Church in East Newark. She will be entombed at Holy Cross cemetery/Mausoleum in North Arlington.
Lena is predeceased by her parents Joseph and Frances and her sisters Mary and Rosie Di Tano. She is survived by her loving family ; Margie and Kenny Jordan, Megan, Mandy and Kenny, Jr. all who took care of her during her long battle with Alzheimers Disease and who stayed by her side until the end. Her family will cherish all the good memories they have from traveling and spending holidays with Lena. She will be sadly missed by her longtime friend George Dreker. She will also be missed by her friends John Li and Michael Golod. She was the dear friend of the late Marge McIvers.
Lena was blessed with caring and dedicated caregivers. Special thanks goes to our friend Lucy Castillo, who lovingly cared for Lena for many years and who will be blessed in heaven someday for all the good she has done. Lena also found dedicated caregivers in Ceil, Norma, Jennifer, Luisa and Miguelina. Our family will never forget you.
