Anne J. Ferdinand (nee Bonanno) ,of Newark, died October 10, 2014 in St. Barnabas. She was 91. Visiting will be on Thursday, October 16, 2014 from 4 until 8 pm, at the Armitage Wiggins Funeral Home 596 Belgrove Drive Kearny. Mass will be on Friday at 10:00 a.m. in Sacred Heart Basilica.
Mrs. Ferdinand, a Rutgers alumni, had been a secretary to The Director of The Newark Board of Education for 35 years of dedicated service, prior to that she was a secretary at Majestic Records. She was a volunteer for The Board of Elections and was Past President of The Municipal Career Women's Association.
Wife of the late Francis A., she is survived by her son, Dr. Francis D. Ferdinand, MD and her grandchildren Lauren, Audrey, Anna and Natalie. She was predeceased by her sons Gregory F., Kevin M, and Jeffrey A. Ferdinand. Daughter of the late Maria Stella Scriffignano and Gioacchino, she was also sister of the late Beatrice, Phyllis, Philly, Joe, Edward and Benjamin Bonanno.
