Marjorie E. Marks passed away at home on November 12, 2016 of natural causes after a brief illness. She was 88. Visiting will be on Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm at the Armitage Wiggins Funeral Home 596 Belgrove Drive, Kearny. Mass Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. in St. Stephens Church and burial will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery in East Hanover.
Originally from East Orange, she moved to Newark with her husband in the 1950's. After having her children, Mrs. Marks and her family moved to South Orange prior to re-locating to Kearny 21 years ago. Marjorie attended High School in East Orange and upon graduation went to work as a secretary in the East Orange City Engineer's Office. Mrs. Marks left employment in the late 1950's to become a full time housewife and mother. She enjoyed her memberships in The VFW Ladies Auxiliary, St. Stephen's Seniors and Sacred Heart Church in the Vailsburg section of Newark.
Daughter of the late William and Margaret Bradshaw of East Orange, she was the wife of the late John M. Marks of Newark. Marjorie was the beloved mother of Sharon Marks, Paul Marks (Phyllis), Stephen Marks (Rosemary) and the late John W. Marks. She is also survived by her cherished grandchildren Diana, Lisa, Timothy, Sarah, John and Felicia along with 5 great grandchildren.
