Douglas C. Masterson

Douglas C. Masterson passed away peacefully at home after a long illness. He was 70. Born in Newark he lived most of his life in Harrison. Visiting will be on Wednesday from 1-3 and 6-8 p.m. at the Armitage Wiggins Funeral Home 596 Belgrove Drive, Kearny. The funeral service will take place at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday evening in the funeral home.  Private cremation will follow.

 

Douglas attended Rutgers University and worked as a computer programmer at Manahatan Life in NYC. He was an avid reader, enjoying sometimes three papers per day. He loved cross word puzzles and Sudoku. He and his beloved wife Charleen (Pardy) have been together since 1969 and married in January of 2013. They enjoyed traveling and often planned their trips around the location of The World Fair.

 

Son of the late Charlie and Dorothy (Willar) Masterson, he is survived by his wife Charleen, his sister Elizabeth Strohecker , his nieces Elizabeth Troy and  Miranda Troy along with his nephews Kenneth Strohecker and Ryan, Benjamin and Kevin Ciesla.
