Craig Kearney

Craig Kearney passed away on April 25, 2016. He was 79. Born in west Orange, he lived most of his life in Kearny before moving to Warren 20 years ago. Visiting will be on Thursday from 2--4 and 7-9 p.m. at the Armitage Wiggins Funeral Home 596 Belgrove Drive, Kearny. Mass Friday 10 a.m. in St. Lucy Church in Newark and entombment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery.

Craig was a graduate of Jersey City Sate College. He was a retired Kearny Police Detective, where he also served as Master/Sergeant at arms in 1992. Craig served in The US Army from 1960-1964. He was a proud member of the N.R.A. and was an avid outdoors man. He loved fishing and hunting but loved and cherished his family and friends first.

Son of the late John H. Kearney and Marguerite A. (nee Tetaz). Surviving is his beloved wife of 54 years, Maria (nee Caruso) his children Jon Kearney, an attorney and Diane Camerada, a pharmacist and his son in law Domenick Camerada.  Grandchildren Domenick, Michael, Anthony and Vincent Camerada and Tiffanie and Craig Kearney.   Cousins Lonnie Miller (Ronnie) and Susie Palmer (Cliff). Sister-in-Law Gina Tirone (Glauco).  Brother- in- Law's Angelo Caruso (Helen), Domenick Pupo and Domenick Caruso (Lella).  He is also survived by his nieces and nephews Frank Taddeo, Dr. Francesco Caruso, Captain Anthony Caruso, Domenick Caruso, Emilio Tirone, Susan McNamara, Julie Kelley, Giuliette Maltese,  Angela Rendeiro, Giuliette Sokolowski, Francesca Caruso and all their significant others.     In lieu of flowers kindly consider a donation to American Cancer Society or The Wounded Warrior Project.
