Richard N. Schetlick passed away suddenly at home on May 15, 2016. He was 54. Born in Kearny he moved to Butler 21 years ago. Visiting will be on Thursday May 19 2016 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the Armitage Wiggins Funeral Home 596 Belgrove Drive, Kearny. Service Friday, 11 a.m. in the funeral home and private cremation will follow.
Rick is survived by his wife Toni (nee DeStefano), his parents Susan Willis (late James Willis) and Richard Schetlick (Adele), his children Tiffanie Serritella (John Henry), Rick Schetlick and Alexandria Schetlick. Brother of Gary and Michael Schetlick he is also survived by his grandson Aiden Henry.
A true outdoorsman, he loved fishing, kayaking, shooting and motor cycles. He was a proud member of the NRA. Rick began his successful career with Cubic Transportation Systems, Inc. on April 4, 1994. During his 22 years of service, Rick held various accomplished management positions supporting the NYCT, Path and NJT fare collection systems. In 2007 Rick accepted the position of Field Service Manager for Cubic’s New Jersey Transit (NJT) Services contract where he provided leadership of the Cubic team and developed a strong relationship with an important client.
