Elizabeth Rogers (nee Peden) passed away June 11, 2016. She was 97. Visiting will be on Wednesday from 2 until 6 p.m. at the Armitage Wiggins Funeral Home 596 Belgrove Drive, Kearny. Funeral Service will be private and burial will follow at Arlington Cemetery.
Mrs. Rogers was past president of the Joseph E. Frobisher American Legion post 99 Woman's Auxiliary in Kearny. Her brother Joseph Peden was the first young sailor from Kearny killed in the South Pacific during WWII. Peden Terrace was named in his memory. Elizabeth was the last living Peden from Kearny.
Wife of the late Alexander G. Rogers, she is survived by her children and their spouses; Florence and Richard Hare, Sally and Joseph Petito, Bob and Marge Rogers, and Betty Rogers and Bernie Narozny. She was predeceased by her sons William and Eddie Rogers and her daughter in law Norma. Also surviving are thirteen grandchildren and twenty four great grandchildren all of whom call her "Lovie", a name given to her by her great granddaughter Kara.
