Bill Kay

William Russell Kay, "Bill Kay" passed away on January 24, 2017. He was 79. Born in Fair Lawn he lived many years in Kearny before moving to Chester in 1986. Visiting will be on Saturday from 1-5 p.m. at the Armitage Wiggins Funeral Home 596 Belgrove Drive, Kearny. The service will take place the same day at 4 p.m. Private cremation will follow.

Bill was very active in Kearny, having coached Colt League Baseball, The Kearny Generals and served as President of The K.U.R.C. He was a life member of The Elks and VFW. He served in The U.S. Navy from 1955-1958. He was very active with The Pioneer Boys Club. He was a football referee and a baseball umpire. A certified Scuba diver, he was a member of P.A.D.I. He was a member of The Classic Car Club of America and the Model Train Association. Active also in Chester, NJ he served on their Planning Board and was The Zoning Officer. Bill held a Masters Degree and was a retired Senior Environmental Advisor from Hoffman LaRoche in Nutley. 

Bill is survived by his wife Maureen (nee Adams), his sons and their wives Keith and Jennifer Kay and Douglas and Karen Kay. Brother of Tom and Norman Kay, he is also survived by his granddaughters MacKenzie, Addison and Penelope.
