Walter J. Major passed away February 7, 2017. He was 91. Born in Jersey City he lived in Kearny since 1960. Visiting will be on Monday, February 13, beginning at 8:30 a.m. at the Armitage Wiggins Funeral Home 596 Belgrove Drive, Kearny. We will begin to form a funeral procession shortly after 10:00 a.m and proceed to St. Stephens Church for a 10:30 a.m. funeral Mass. Entombment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery Mausoleum, North Arlington.
Mr. Major was a WWII Navy Veteran. He held a BA and is a retired Sales Office Manager from Kestor Solder in Newark. Walter is survived by his beloved wife Bette (nee Schmidt) and his devoted daughter Leigh E. Major. In lieu of flowers kindly consider a donation to St Jude Childrens Hospital
