James Lynch, 81, of East Newark formerly of Greenock, Scotland passed on April 4, 2017. Beloved husband of Theresa (Holland) Lynch. Devoted father of Rose Anne and husband John Osterkorn, Theresa and husband James Doyle, Katherine and husband John Cassapo, and Jennifer Lynch. Loving grandfather of Anne, Casey, James, Anthony, Nicholas, Ariana, Silas, and Daisy. Dear brother of Sarah and husband Allan Stewart, and Ellen McGuire. Predeceased by his brother Patrick McIlvogue, and John Lynch, sisters Rose Ellis, Margaret Brady, Catherine O'Donnell, Elizabeth Marshall, and Mary Thomas. He leaves behind many loving nieces and nephews. Before retiring Jim was a sheet metal worker for Hyatt Industries, Clark and Maxwell House, Hoboken. Jim served in the U.S Army during the Vietnam War stationed in Korea. Jim was the 2014 senior citizens recipient of the year for East Newark. He was a member of the American Legion, and the Irish American Club. He was an avid Glasgow Celtic supporter and a golf enthusiast. Jim's "quick wit and charm" will be sorely missed by many loved ones.
Visitation will be on Sunday 1-5pm at the Armitage & Wiggins Funeral Home, 596 Belgrove Dr. Kearny.
Funeral Mass will be on Monday 10am at St. Anthony's Church, East Newark.
Cremation will follow at East Ridgelawn Crematory, Clifton.
