Visiting will be at The Armitage & Wiggins Funeral Home 596 Belgrove Drive Kearny on Monday 2-4 & 7-9PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be officiated on Tuesday at 10:30AM at St. Stephen's Church, Kearny. Cremation will be private.
Born in Belfast Ireland, Eugene settled in Kearny 56 years ago.
He was a painter with Hudson Shotz, New York for 55 years before his retirement. He was a member with The Irish American Association, Kearny.
He is the beloved father ofAnn Polukord (Frank), Gerald Doherty and his girlfriend Yanira Echevarria, Pauline Doherty and her fiancé Richie Perez and the late Eugene Doherty, Jr.. Father-in-Law of Joanne Turro Doherty. Grandfather of Gary, Robyn, Ryan, Kevin, Jill, Christopher, Shannen, Samantha, Luke, Anthony, Holly and Christian. Great Grandfather of Mason. He is also survived by his Brothers, Joe, Paul, Christopher and Pearce and his sisters Eileen, Patricia and Sadie all of Ireland.
