Joseph P. Sgalia, of Kearny, passed away on April 21, 2018. He was 63. Visiting will be on Tuesday and Wednesday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the Armitage Wiggins Funeral Home 596 Belgrove Drive, Kearny. Mass Thursday in St. Joseph Church, Jersey City at 10:30 a.m and burial will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery in East Hanover.
He was the husband of Dorothy (Neglia) and father of Gina Ball and Laura Sgalia-Muniz. Brother of Annette Sgalia-Parks and grandfather of Vincent and Nicholas he was also survived by his niece Kimberly Lipari along with many other loving family members. Joe was the current President of Unico, co-founder of Project Graduation, a former member of The Board of Education, Library Committee, and West Hudson Council for the Arts all in Kearny. He was currently an elected member of The Democratic Hudson County Committee.
