Joan A. Kerr (nee Dean) passed away peacefully on June 4, 2018 at her home in Kearny. She was 81 years old. A memorial Mass will be held on June 9, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. in Our Lady of Sorrows Church in Kearny. Her cremation will be held privately.
Joan was born in North Arlington, NJ on October 18, 1936. Joan was raised in Harrison, NJ She graduated from Harrison High School in 1954. After graduation, Joan joined several members of her family and began work at Otis Elevator in Harrison, where she was a "key punch" operator and then a "secretary".
At Otis, Joan met and then married Charles J. Kerr. Charles died in March 2007. After retiring to raise her family, Joan was also the proud babysitter and helped raise many fine young children. Joan survived by brothers William Brown & Clement Triano and sister Gloria DeLuca.
Joan was the proud mother of two children, Deborah J. McGeehan (Robert) and Charles D. Kerr and loving grandmother of John Robert and Kathleen Louise.
