Kurt L. Thoens ,of Kearny, formerly of North Bergen, passed away on October 8, 2019. He was 71. Born in Jersey City, he was a Captain at the Hudson County Jail and an Army Veteran of the Vietnam War.
Beloved husband of Jean Thoens (nee Walasek). Devoted father of Kurt Thoens and his wife Vanessa and Michele Ferian and her husband Michael. Brother of the late Joan Boyle, William, Raymond, Robert, Allen and Douglas Thoens. Brother in-law of Geraldine Koumiss, Susan, Diana and the late Patricia Thoens and Jack Boyle. Loving uncle and great-uncle of many nieces and nephews.
Visiting will be on Thursday October 10, 2019 from 4 until 8 p.m. at the Armitage Wiggins Funeral Home 596 Belgrove Drive, Kearny. Service Friday 11:00 a.m. in the funeral home and entombment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery.
