Joseph P. Russell, of Kearny, passed away peacefully at home on November 19, 2019. He was 86. Visiting will be on Thursday from 4 until 8 p.m. at the Armitage Wiggins Funeral Home 596 Belgrove Drive, Kearny. Mass Friday at 11:00 a.m. in Our Lady of Sorrows Church and entombment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery.
Joe was in The Air force from 1952 until 1956. He was a retired Fire Fighter in Kearny. He was a member of The Elks, The American Legion and Local 500. He was an avid coin and stamp collector and loved bowling. Husband of Barbara (nee Sateary), he was the father of Karen Cannizzo, Donna Esteves, David Russell (Leslie) and the late Michael Russell (Lori-Anne). Brother of the late Florence Cappelletti he is also survived by his six grandchildren; Alexa Rae, Amanda Marie, Zachary Thomas, Joseph Helder, Natalie and Gavin along with many nieces and nephews. in lieu of flowers kindly consider a donation to St. Jude Childrens Hospital.
