Margaret A. Fanning (nee Duffy) passed away on June 18, 2019. She was 91. Born in Jersey City she lived in North Arlington for many years before moving to Lakewood in 2010. Visiting will be on Friday from 4 until 8 p.m. at the Armitage Wiggins Funeral Home. Mass Saturday 10:00 a.m. in Queen of Peace Church and burial will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery.
Peggy was retired from N.J. Bell and was a member of Telephone Pioneers of America. She was a very active member of Queen of Peace Church, especially The Rosary Society. She was a member of The Happy Seniors and Womans Auxiliary of The VFW and bowled in three different leagues all in North Arlington. After moving to Lakewood she became an active member of The Residence Council at Leisure Park.
Daughter of the late Catherine (nee Clifford) Duffy and late John Duffy, she was also the wife of the late George Fanning. Mother of Joseph Fanning (Robert), Gary Fanning (Nora), Karen Lewandowski (Edward) and Lynn Wallden (Thomas). She was the sister of the late Thomas and John Duffy and Catherine Blakely. Grandmother of Gary, Kevin (Melissa), Thomas and George she was also the great “GiGi” to John Gerard. In lieu of flowers kindly consider a donation to St. Jude Childrens Hospital.
