Enriqueta Gutierrez (nee Gonzalez) passed away peacefully at home on July 29, 2019. She was 88 years old. Born in Cuba on January 14, 1931, she has lived in Kearny for the past fifty years. Visiting is at Armitage and Wiggins Funeral Home 596 Belgrove Drive, Kearny on Sunday August 4, 2019 from 2 until 7 p.m. Her funeral Mass will be on Monday at 10:00 a.m. in St. Stephens Church and entombment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery.
After immigrating from Cuba, Mrs. Gutierrez was a talented seamstress and successful business owner. She owned Maggie’s Bridal in Kearny for over thirty years. Devoted wife to the late Jose Antonio Gutierrez she was also the loving mother of Tony Gutierrez (his wife Michele) and Mary Ferreira (her husband Mario). Enriqueta and her sister Consuelo Tufaro (her husband Peter) were predeceased by four brothers and six sisters. She is also survived by her cherished grandson Aidan, along with many loving nieces and nephews.
