Fermin "Chato" Silva

Fermin "Chato" Silva, born on April 22, 1936, in Guayaquil, Ecuador entered into eternity on December 4, 2020. Fermin was a stellar musician. He studied at the Antonio Neumane Music Conservatory where he soon became an outstanding trumpet pupil. He often played the drums for stars touring in Ecuador, such as Celia Cruz.  He has now gone to join them in eternity including his youngest sister Serafina “Serapia” Beatriz Silva, with the exception of his sister Rosario Silva de Acosta who survives him.

Fermin is survived by his beloved wife, Luisa Elizabeth Silva, his sons, David and Miguel Silva, and his youngest daughter Alba Silva.  Sadly, his oldest daughter Beatriz Silva Brinkmyer passed away on April 29, 2020. He is also survived by his ten grandchildren: Douglas, Zoe, Angela, Nichole, Christian, Sage, David, Makaylan, Michael, Isabel and his four great-grandchildren: Alexander, Christopher, Madeline and Phaedra Love.
