Osvaldo F. Ojeda 91, of Harrison died on March 13, 2020. Visiting will be at The Armitage & Wiggins Funeral Home 596 Belgrove Drive Kearny on Sunday 4-8PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be officiated on Monday at 10AM at St. Cecilia’s Church, Kearny. Entombment Holy Cross Cemetery, North Arlington.

Born in Cuba, Osvaldo came to The United States in 1968 and settled in Irvington before moving to Harrison.

He was a forklift operator with Wakefern Corporation in Elizabeth retiring in 1991.

He was a member of The Knights of Columbus, Kearny and a member of Teamsters Local 863, Mountainside.

He is the beloved husband of Olga Quintana Ojeda for almost 63 years. He is the Father of O. Christopher Ojeda and his wife Margaret. Grandfather of Christopher Daniel and Lauren Nicole. Brother of Alba, Maria and Mario. Brother in law of Mireya and her husband Tony. He is also survived by his granddog Bloo.

Osvaldo’s grandchildren were the light of his life. Christopher and Lauren loved their “Abi” unconditionally and both of them decided to take off from their careers to be with and care for their grandfather when he became ill. When Osvaldo was asked what was the best part of his most recent birthday party, he responded “his grandchildren!” They both had an extraordinary love for their “Abi” as he did for them, even when they both would give him wrong directions while they drove with him in the car when they were younger.

In lieu of flowers, donations to The St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital would be appreciated.
