Delmar Alves Cancela, 73 of Kearny passed away on June 15, 2020.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a visitation for Delmar at the Armitage & Wiggins Funeral Home, 596 Belgrove Dr. Kearny on Friday from 9-10 AM. A graveside service will then be celebrated at Holy Cross Cemetery at 10:15 AM.
Born in Portugal, Delmar moved to Newark in 1972 before settling in Kearny in 1982. A master carpenter who could build anything, Delmar worked for Union Local 142, and was well known for his fine woodwork.
Delmar was the beloved husband of Maria (nee Batista) Cancela; loving father of Angela Cancela, Sandra Villanueva, Paolo Cancela, Delmar Cancela and Eva Cancela; and cherished grandfather of Adriana Villanueva.
