If you are reading this it means that I have passed away from old age at 94 years old. I met my life-long partner E. Robert Hakim in London during WWII and after coming to American at 20 years old, I was made to feel at home by my husband’s family. In Kearny, NJ we raised four wonderful children: Christine, Robert, Barbara and Thomas. We enjoyed many trips to Belmar and Seneca Lake and so many picnics. We had such nice dogs along the way too, Skippy, Bo-Bo, Barney, Shamrock and Willie.
From my mother I learned a passion for English gardening, as well as my love for birds and all nature, which totally engaged me and gave me joy my entire life. I was blessed with good health, being able to pick my own weeds until I was 90. My husband, who passed away nine years before me, and I were lucky enough to travel a fair amount in our retirement years. I knew the joy of having grandchildren and great-grandchildren and a good daughter-in-law and sons-in-laws as well. Yes, I had my fair share of trials and tribulations along the way, but it all balanced out. It was all good for me; I was a lucky woman. For this I thank the Creator of all things.
