Joanna Lewczak

JOANNA MARY LEWCZAK

Born August 28, 1932 – Died October 20, 2021

Joanna was born in Newark, New Jersey to Simon and Victoria (Bator) Lewczak. She moved to Belleville in the 60’s.  After she graduated from East Side High School, she got a job at Bamberger’s Newark (which later became Macy’s).. She worked as a statistician and retired after 50 years.

Joanna was predeceased by her siblings: John Lewczak, Anna Lewczak, Genevieve Kozdron, Helen Lewczak, and Joseph Lewczak; her nieces, Judith Blain of Prattsville, NY, John Kozdron of Harrison, NJ and Carolyn O’Hara of Belleville, NJ.

She is survived by her niece, Joanna Mattos of Byram Township, NJ, her nephews, Milton Kozdron of Manchester, NJ, Patrick Lewczak of Belleville, John Lewczak of Keyport, NJ, James Lewczak of Florida, and many grandnieces and grandnephews.

She was a member of Saint Casimir Church in Newark all her life. In the last five years she was a resident at Andover Subacute & Rehab in Andover, NJ.

There will be visitation on Saturday, October 23rd at Wilfred Armitage-Wiggins Funeral on Belgrove Drive, Kearny, NJ from 8:00 a.m. – 9:15, followed by a Mass of Christian burial at St. Casimir Church, Newark at 10:00 a.m. and interment at Holy Cross Cemetery in North Arlington.
