James Luty passed away on February 5, 2021 in Jersey City Medical Center. He was 72. Born and raised in Belleville, where he was a football lineman and wrestler for Belleville High School, class of 1966.
Relatives and friends are invited to visit at the Armitage Wiggins Funeral Home 596 Belgrove Drive, Kearny on Tuesday from 6 until 8 p.m. Please respect the COVID restrictions and kindly keep your visit brief and wear a mask. His funeral and cremation will be private.
Mr. Luty lived in Boston, MA, and in the New Jersey communities of Kearny, Warren and Jersey City before moving to Bayonne four years ago.
Mr. Luty was a graduate of Rutgers University and earned a Master’s Degree at Harvard University. After college, he was employed for five years by the Boston River-Basin Authority. From there, he became the founder and owner of James Luty Associates, which he operated in New Jersey for many years.
He is survived by his wife Julie (nee Borys); his children, Beth Waldman (Michael), James Luty (Wini) and Sara Tesoriero (Christina); sisters Joyce Tully and Jeanette Luty; grandchildren, Gwen and Eve Waldman and Annabelle and Valerie Luty.
Jim loved sailing on his O’Day down in LBI and the Hudson River. Jim’s passions were art and architecture. His talent for design and beauty was evident in his work. Jim will be missed by many who knew and loved him.
