Rosa Outumuro (nee Rodriguez), 88 of Elizabeth passed away at home on March 22, 2021.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a visitation for Rosa at the Armitage & Wiggins Funeral Home, 596 Belgrove Dr. Kearny on Friday March 26 from 9 - 11 AM. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Queen of Peace Church at 11:30 AM, and entombment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery. For those unable to attend, a livestream of the funeral mass will be available beginning on Friday at 11:30 AM by visiting www.qpcna.org.
Born in Vilaboa, Spain, Rosa immigrated to the United States with her husband in 1968, and settled with her family in Elizabeth in 1983. She worked as a seamstress for many years until retiring. Affectionately known as the “Empanada Lady” and the “Pancake Lady”, Rosa was deeply devoted to caring for her family.
Rosa was the beloved wife to the late Abelardo Outumuro, who passed away just six weeks ago. She is survived by her loving children Pilar Salgado and her husband Delmiro, and Joseph Outumuro and his wife Isabel; dear grandmother of Rosemarie, Delmiro, Michael, Anthony and Matthew, and adoring great-grandmother of Destiny, Julian and Briella.
In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
