Jesus A. Gonzalez, 71 of Kearny passed away on June 22, 2021.
Funeral services are private, in the care of the Armitage & Wiggins Funeral Home.
Born in Havana, Cuba, Jesus moved to the Ironbound section of Newark in 1958 and lived there until moving to Kearny 45 years ago. He proudly served in the US Army as a paratrooper during the Vietnam War. Jesus loved the outdoors, especially being at the beach. He enjoyed kayaking and snorkeling, and was a proud Eagle Scout. Jesus cherished time spent tending to his garden, caring for the beautiful flowers and hearty vegetables. He was a talented baker, and would bake a delicious cake and bread for all of his family members’ birthdays. Above all, Jesus treasured time with his loving nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
The son of the late Jesus and Josefina (nee Villaveran) Gonzalez, Jesus was the devoted brother of Carmen Nagy and the late Luz Maria Rocha, dear brother-in-law of Adriano Rocha, loving uncle of Robert Nagy, Adriano Rocha (Dina), David Nagy (Danielle), Shawn Rocha (Jill), Jason Rocha (Nicole), Melissa Santiago (Carlos), and Ashley Sachs (Michael). He was also the adoring great-uncle of Damon, Jacob, Riley, Sophia, Aiden, Xavier, Ethan, Stella, Gabriella, Kai and Amaiya.
