Raymond Herschell passed away on July 19, 2021. He was 90. He lived in Kearny for many years before moving to Belleville in 1971.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a visitation for Raymond at the Armitage & Wiggins Funeral Home, 596 Belgrove Dr. Kearny on Friday from 2-4 & 7-9 PM. A Funeral Service will be celebrated in the funeral home on Saturday at 10:30 AM, followed by the bestowment of military honors. Interment will be held privately.
Raymond served as a sergeant in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. Some of his passions were reading and learning about history, bowling and vegetable gardening. Deeply devoted to his Scottish heritage, Raymond was always active, and had a proud work ethic. He was a true handy man and could fix just about anything. Raymond worked for Bell Systems as a telephone technician for 43 years before retiring.
Raymond was the beloved husband of the late Joyce; loving father of Lori Lampkin and her husband Jim, Raymond Herschell and his wife Amy, and Leigh Ann Herschell. The brother of the late Helen Liguori, he is also survived by his grandchildren Max, Sam, Molly and Alex.
