Salvatore Aleo, 52 of Kearny passed away on October 15, 2022 after a long and courageous battle with leukemia.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a visitation for Sal at the Armitage & Wiggins Funeral Home, 596 Belgrove Dr. Kearny on Thursday from 4-8 PM. A Funeral Mass will be at St. Cecilia's Church in Kearny on Friday at 10 AM, and interment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery.
Born and raised in Brooklyn, Sal has settled in Kearny, NJ the last few years.
He worked as a truck driver mostly his whole life and he made some lifelong friends. His trucker friends became family to him.
An avid fan of the New York Jets and New York Yankees. Sal loved to paintball, hunt, play poker and travel.
Sal truly treasured time spent out with his friends, he loved family/friend gatherings, special occasions and holidays.
He was always cracking jokes, had a loveable, magnetic personality and a contagious smile.
Sal is survived by his wife Cristina; his loving children Alycia Aleo, Vito Aleo, Salvatore Aleo and Gabriella Aleo; parents Vito and Alicia Aleo, brother Joseph Aleo (Betty) cousins Joey Aleo (Kristin) Angelo Aleo (Christina); and by his in-laws Francisco and Ana Caturra, Bruno Caturra (Stephanie), Nicole Caturra and Miguel Caturra (Allie) Grace (Wayne) Vanessa. He is also survived by his Uncle Angelo (Carmela), aunt Lina and several nieces and nephews and cousins.
In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to St. Cecilia’s Church, to be used in weekly remembrance masses for Sal each Sunday.
