Asuncion Cazares, 78 of Kearny passed away on November 30, 2022.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a visitation for Asuncion at the Armitage & Wiggins Funeral Home, 596 Belgrove Dr. Kearny on Sunday from 1-4 PM. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Cecilia’s Church in Kearny on Monday at 10:30 AM. Interment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery.
Born in Chila de la Sal Puebla, Mexico, Asuncion has lived in Kearny for 30 years. She was a fantastic cook, and her recipe for Mole will be sorely missed, and can never be recreated. She was a devoted parishioner of St. Cecilia Church, and enjoyed attending mass there. She also cherished time spent sipping coffee at Dulce’s Bakery.
Asuncion was the loving mother of Aurelio, Rosa, Erasto, Isidoro and Prudencia Cazares; beloved grandmother of Luis, Marlene, Janet, Brian, Jordan, Kylie, Andrea, Pedro, Sandra, Daisy, Erick and George Cazares, and Roberto, Candido, Manuel, Jose, Carmen and Guadalupe Mendoza. She is also survived by several more grandchildren, and by many great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her brothers Alvaro and Alberto Cazares.
