Ernesto Hernandez, 51 of Kearny passed away on February 10, 2022.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a visitation for Ernesto at the Armitage & Wiggins Funeral Home, 596 Belgrove Dr. Kearny on Monday from 2-4 & 7-9 PM. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Holy Cross Church in Harrison on Tuesday at 11 AM. Entombment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery.
Born in Long Island, NY, Ernesto was a longtime Kearny resident. He proudly served as a police sergeant in Harrison for many years. Ernesto was a handyman at heart, and could fix just about anything. He also cherished days spent out riding his motorcycle.
The son of Hilda and the late Enrique Hernandez, Ernesto was the beloved husband of Jennifer (nee Kane) Hernandez, and loving father of Graciella Hernandez. He was also the dear brother of Eddie Hernandez and his wife Michele, Carmen Parker and her husband Jon, Enrique Hernandez and his wife Alicia, and the late Efrain Hernandez. He is also survived by his sister-in-law Joanne, by many loving nieces and nephews, and by his police officer brothers and sisters.
