Teodosia Monroig, 95 of Newark passed away on April 3, 2022.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a visitation for Teodosia at the Armitage & Wiggins Funeral Home, 596 Belgrove Dr. Kearny on Tuesday from 4-8 PM. A Celebration of Life will be held at 7 PM.
Burial will take place on Wednesday at Holy Cross Cemetery, with those that would like to attend requested to be at the funeral home by 9:30 AM.
Born in Isabel, Puerto Rico, Teodosia has lived in Newark since 1969. A feisty, independent woman, Teodosia showed her love through her cooking. She made the best sancocho in town, and her family looked forward to holiday gatherings that would not be complete without her amazing pastelas.
Teodosia was the beloved wife of the late Maximino Monroig; loving mother of Rosa, Santa I., Juan A., Emilio, Carmen, Miguel A., Ramonita and Manuel Monroig; cherished grandmother of 18 and great-grandmother of 21. She is also survived by five brothers and sisters, and was predeceased by six siblings.
