Michael J. Murray, 54 of Toms River passed away on June 9, 2022.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a visitation for Mike at the Armitage & Wiggins Funeral Home, 596 Belgrove Dr. Kearny on Tuesday June 14 from 5-9 PM. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Stephens’s Church on Wednesday at 12 noon. Burial will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery.
Born in Jersey City, Mike was a longtime resident until moving to the Jersey Shore 15 years ago. A proud veteran, Mike served in the United States Marine Corps. from 1986 - 1989, stationed in Okinawa.
Mike was proud of his Irish Heritage. A steel worker for much of his career, he enjoyed listening to Billy Joel and Journey. Mike most treasured time spent with his loving family, especially with his daughter.
Mike was the beloved husband of Debbie (nee Balis) Murray; loving father of Tina Renee Murray; devoted son of Joseph and Maureen (nee Desimone) Murray; dear brother of Marge DeSimone and her husband Bruce, James Murray and his wife Lauri, Ralph Murray and his wife Cheryl, Gary Murray and his wife Marcy, Rick Murray, Cheryl Wagner and her husband Ken, and the late Joseph Murray, Jr., Russell Murray and Michele Lynn Murray. He is also survived by his faithful dog, Maya, and by many loving nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and in-laws. He was predeceased by his mother-in-law Patricia Balis, and by his dog Harley.
In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to the American Kidney Fund, or to the American Lung Association.
