George Edward Doeffinger Jr, of Bradley Beach formally of Belleville, NJ passed on Friday July 22nd at the age of 74, surrounded by his family. George, also known to family and friends as Buddy, through his lifetime was a Butcher, Food Inspector, Food Service Manager and Antiques Dealer as well as a Veteran of the United States Army. A Memorial service will take place on Friday July 29, 2022 from 9 until 11:00 a.m. in the Armitage Wiggins funeral Home 596 Belgrove Drive, Kearny. His military burial will take place that same day at 12 noon in The North Jersey Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Sparta.
Preceded in death by his parents George E. and Elizabeth Doeffinger and his brother John P. Doeffinger. Buddy is survived by his sister Lisa O’Malley, brother Thomas Doeffinger wife Karen, sister Karen DeRosa husband Craig. Nieces and Nephews include Heather Carlo, Kelly Velez, William, Timothy and Daniel O’Malley, Emily, and Abigail Frisch as well as twelve grand nieces and nephews.
Buddy enlisted in the service in 1968 and served two terms before he was honorably discharged. He took great pride in serving his country and was proud to be a veteran. He loved history, art, architecture and being part of the Bradley Beach Library Patrons where he spent much of his retired time.
Buddy was a loving Brother and Uncle who will be missed.
A Memorial service will be held at Armitage Wiggins Funeral Home, (date pending) Kearny NJ. Burial to follow at Northern New Jersey Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Sparta Township, NJ
