Orazio Colamedici, 90 of Beach Haven Terrace, formerly of Kearny passed away on July 26, 2022.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a visitation for Orazio at the Armitage & Wiggins Funeral Home, 596 Belgrove Dr. Kearny on Sunday from 2-4 PM. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Holy Cross Church in Harrison on Monday at 10 AM. Interment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery.
Born in Newark, Orazio was a lifelong Kearny resident until moving to Beach Haven Terrace several years ago. He was a proud Navy veteran, serving on the USS Shenandoah from 1952 - 1956. Orazio was the owner of Primo Motor Cars, an International Harvester dealership in Kearny for many years. A member of the VFW in North Arlington, Orazio was also a supporter of the A Club at the United States Military Academy at West Point. Orazio also cherished beautiful days spent swimming in the ocean.
Orazio is survived by his longtime companion Mildred; his loving children Andrew Colamedici and his wife Carol, Susan McLaren and her fiance Frank Schrimp and Joseph Colamedici and his wife Jennifer; proud grandfather of Anthony, Joseph and Jonathan Colamedici, Amanda MacDonell and her husband Lenord and Andrew McLaren; and adoring great-grandfather of Colin MacDonell. He was predeceased by his sisters Theresa and Eleanor, and by his grandson James Colamedici.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Ronald McDonald House in Philadelphia, or to the Summit Speech School in New Providence.
