Kathleen O’Donnell passed away at home on January 28, 2023. She was only 54. Born in Jersey City, she lived most of her life in North Arlington. Arrangements are by Armitage Wiggins Funeral Home in Kearny. A memorial service will be Saturday, February 4th from 3:00 to 7:00 PM.
Kathleen was the beloved daughter of Evelyn (nee Corbliss) and the late Robert Kelly. Loving wife of Andrew O’Donnell (Kearny Fire Department). She was the cherished mother of Griffin O’Donnell (his fiance Nicole), Luke O’Donnell (his wife Lucy), Hunter O’Donnell and Cole O’Donnell. Dear sister of Robert Kelly (his wife Hazel), Nancy Smith (her husband Teddy), Daniel Kelly (his wife Genny) and the late Joanie Stein (her husband Kenny).
Kathleen had a very outgoing, bubbly personality, loved life and lived it to the fullest. She was unapologetically herself in a world that often tries to get you to conform or change. She showed up and did life her own way - always. We are all going to miss your laughter and fierce love for your family.
Kathleen’s future daughter-in-law Nicolle said it best about Kathleen, “the world is so dull without you here” and we feel everyone who knew her now feels the same.
Her most important and rewarding job in life was to be a mother to her four sons and her beloved dogs. Two of her sons, Griffin and Luke, are in the United States Army. She was a very proud Army Mom.
Her husband Andrew was the love of her life and her hero. They were high school sweethearts and have been together since 1985. She enjoyed many trips traveling with him and her children. Her favorite destination was Key West.
She was always at the center of the dance floor because “nobody puts baby in the corner.” We will miss Kathleen everyday.
