Teodoro “Teddy” Zangari, 90, of Kearny passed away peacefully at home on Friday, November 17, 2023. Devoted Husband of Iolanda Zangari (nee Surrago) (2022). Beloved father of Teodoro Zangari, III and his wife Sherri, and Caterina Rebelo and her husband Helder. Cherished grandfather of Helder JT, Dante, Isabella and Teo. Dear brother of Adriana Zangari, Anthony Zangari and Peter Zangari . Teodoro is predeceased by his son, Francesco Zangari, as well as his siblings Joe Zangari, Frank Zangari and Teresa Fabiano. Before immigrating to the United States in 1965, Teodoro served in the Italian Armed forces, on his arrival to New Jersey he became a Correctional Officer for the Essex County Correctional Facility, Newark until his retirement. He was a proud member of the Liberty Club, Newark. In his spare time “Poppy” enjoyed sunbathing, gardening, and spending time near his fig tree. But what he enjoyed often was his ladyfinger cookies and his shot of Espresso.
Family and friends are welcome to visit on Tuesday, November 21st from 4-8pm in the Armitage & Wiggins Funeral Home, 596 Belgrove Drive, Kearny.
Funeral service will be on Wednesday, November 22nd at 11:30am in the funeral home.
Entombment will follow in Graceland Memorial Park, Kenilworth.
