Philip G. Johnston, 72, of Nutley formerly of Kearny passed away on December 15, 2023. He was the devoted father of Philip James George Johnston and his wife Lauri, and Janine Martino. Loving grandfather of Megan, Paige, Emily and Kayla. Dear brother of Linda Sode and her husband Robert. Philip is also survived by his two stepsons, Philip and Patrick. Philip is predeceased by his loving partner Patricia Schulze, his siblings Richard Johnston, Alan Johnston and Bronwyn Giglio. He graduated from Kearny High School in 1969. Philip was a selfless man, always giving back to Hudson County, belonging to many different clubs or organizations, He was a member of the Pioneer Boys of America, Hudson County Optimist Club, Chairman of the Hudson County Community College Foundation where he served for many years, He was also a member of Forest Hill Country Club, Bloomfield. He also organized the annual Easter Egg Hunt in West Hudson Park. In his spare time, he loved boating golfing and spending time with his family. He was a friend to many and will be truly missed.

A celebration of life gathering will be on Saturday, December 23 from 2-6pm in the Forest Field Club, Bloomfield.
