Margaret 'Meg' Murray

On March 16, 2023, Margaret (Meg) Murray (nee MacFadyen) was reunited with her Lord and Savior

Jesus Christ, her husband George, her son Glen, her brother Wallace and sister-in-law Margie, brother

and sister-in-law Estelle and John Williams and many other loved family and friends. After a full life of

95 years, she went by many names: Mother, Sister, Aunt, Grandmother, Great Grandmother, Friend,

Mentor.

On the 17 th day of January in 1928, Margaret was born to Wallace and Margaret at West Hudson

Hospital in Kearny where she grew up and graduated High School with High Honors. It was also in Kearny

that she met her soul mate George Murray Jr. and together raised 3 boys into 3 amazing men. Meg

devoted many years to her beloved Grace United Methodist Church in Kearny. She retired as the

Assistant Vice President at Valley National Bank, and eventually retired further to the Jersey Shore.

Meg had enough love for everyone she met. When you met her, you couldn’t help but love her too.

Her caring and accepting nature is unmatched. Meg is survived and missed greatly by son and daughter-

In-law Drew and Linda Murray, son and daughter-In-law Todd and Ellen Murray, daughter-in-law

Maureen Murray, Sister Ann Barr and Sister-In-Law Carol MacFadyen along with many nieces and

nephews.

Her memory is cherished forever by 8 Grandchildren and their spouses: Michael and Amy, Mathew and

Brigitte, Kimberly, Pamela and Stephen, Carol and Jeff, Alan, Julie, Michelle and Phil.

Her legacy proudly continues to brighten the future with 14 Great Grandchildren.

Arrangements are in the care of the Armitage & Wiggins Funeral Home in Kearny. A Memorial Visitation will be celebrated at the Mastapeter Memorial Home, 270 Atlantic City Blvd. Bayville on Saturday March 25 from 2-6 PM, with a funeral service being celebrated at 5:30 PM. Cremation was held privately. Her ashes will be buried at Hillside Cemetery in Lyndhurst.
