June McCain passed away on January 29, 2024. She was 89 years of age. Private arrangements are under the supervision of Armitage Wiggins Funeral Home in Kearny. Her ashes will be laid to rest at Arlington Cemetery in the near future.
June was born in Kearny and lived there most of her life before moving to the Jersey Shore 12 years ago. She was a professional dancer with a focus on ballet. Early in her life she performed as a Radio City Music Hall Rockette and appeared on Broadway in “Pal Joey” as well as on the Ed Sullivan Show. She had a successful dance studio for 50 years, “The June McCain School of Dance” in Kearny. Her greatest role was that as a teacher/mentor to all of her “babies”!
Beloved mother of Roy Sievewright, Grier Sievewright (and wife), Charles DePaolo (his wife Lori) and the late Dorothy DePaolo, Jeryl Ruccatano and Roger Ruccatano. She is the sister of the late Diane Kelicher. She was the grandmother of Paul, Carolyn, Michael, June, Anne and the late John. Also surviving are many great grandchildren.
