Jose (“Josecho”) M. Perez Hermo passed away at home surrounded by his family on December 23,2024.
Josecho was born June 28, 1961 in the small town of A Pobra de Caramiñal in Spain and immigrated to the United States in 1988. Originally a resident of Harrison NJ, he has lived in Kearny, NJ for the last 25 years and worked at Mid-State Construction for over 20+ years until his retirement in 2022.
Beloved by so many, he was a dedicated hard worker who always took time out to help others. He loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren, and could be found teaching them to play chess whenever possible. He was a lifelong, die-hard NY Giants football fan and his chosen soccer team Atlético Madrid. Josecho loved the company of all animals, especially his loyal companion of many years Max who predeceased him.
Josecho is survived by his devoted wife Maria (Marisa) L. Sieira Gonzalez, his sons David Perez and wife Denise, and Jose L. Perez and wife Andreia. He is the adored abuelo of Matt, Tyler, Luke, Hailey and padrino to Casey. He is also survived by his siblings Victoria, Juan and Jesus and many loving nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a visitation for Josecho at the Armitage & Wiggins Funeral Home, 596 Belgrove Dr., Kearny, NJ on Friday December 27 from 4 to 8 PM. A funeral mass will be celebrated at St. Stephen’s Church in Kearny, NJ on Saturday at 10 AM. Interment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers a donation can be made to St. Jude’s in Josecho’s memory.
