Nery Martha Maldonado

It is with full hearts and deep gratitude for her long, beautiful life that we announce the passing of our mother, Nery Martha Maldonado, who left this world peacefully at the age of 85 on November 17, 2025. Visiting will be on Monday November 24th from 3:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the Armitage Wiggins Funeral Home 596 Belgrove Drive in Kearny. Her Funeral Mass will be the following morning at 10:30 a.m. in St. Stephen Church in Kearny and private cremation will follow.

Born into a large, spirited family of 10, she grew up surrounded by the very thing she cherished most—family and friends.  She carried that legacy of love and connection throughout her life, becoming the steady center of her own family and the gentle force that held so many together.  Her life was an extraordinary tapestry of love, selflessness, and grace, and we are forever thankful for every precious moment we shared with her.

She leaves behind her three devoted children and their families—Tony and JoAnn Maldonado, Zayda and David Marrie, and Stewart and Christina Maldonado—each molded by her steadfast resilience, her silent sacrifices, and her endless capacity for love. Her six cherished grandchildren—Alec and Ian Maldonado, Chris and Julia Marrie, and the youngest, Ella and Cody Maldonado—were blessed beyond measure to experience her guiding wisdom, her laughter, and her special gift for making everyone feel truly valued, seen and loved.

To her family, she was a guide. To her friends, she was a comfort. To the world, she was a reminder that kindness—steady, everyday kindness—is its own kind of greatness.
Her legacy is not measured by material wealth, but by the boundless love she gave so freely and the kindness she sowed in the hearts of many. While our hearts ache with her absence, we honor and celebrate the extraordinary woman she was and the lasting imprint she leaves on our lives. Her memory will forever be a guiding light and a blessing to us all.

May she rest in peace, reunited with the loved ones who welcomed her home.
