Luis Frank Diaz-Perez

Luis Frank Diaz-Perez passed peacefully at home with his wife Silvia Diaz-Tapia by his side on Tuesday, September 23, 2025.

Visiting will be on Tuesday September 30 from 4:00 until 8:00 pm at the Armitage Wiggins Funeral Home, 596 Belgrove Drive, Kearny, NJ. Mass will be on Wednesday at 11:00 am in Our Lady of Good Counsel in Newark. Entombment will follow at Holy Cross Mausoleum.

Born in Pinar Del Rio, Cuba where he studied CPA at Escuela de Comercio, Pinar Del Rio, Cuba and a master’s in art from la Escuela de Artes Plasticas, Pinar del Rio, Cuba. He moved to Spain in 1968. He then moved to New Jersey where he worked with an accounting firm in Closter, NJ. He then moved to Florida in 1969. He opened and owned Idea Typewriters in Miami, FL. He finally settled back in New Jersey in 1992. He then opened and owned A-1 Typewriter in Montclair NJ. He was known as the master of typewriter repairs.

He was the son of Eladio Diaz Tamayo and Angelina Perez Chiles. He is predeceased by his brothers Miguel, Moises, Juan Antonio and his sister Ofelia. He is survived by his wife Silvia, his children, Jorge Luis Diaz and Angela and Joe Galleno, his grandchildren, Gabriel, Daniel, Shanon and Shaina and many nephews and nieces

He was an avid hunter in his early years. He was passionate about history and shared knowledge with others. He also loved to read.
