Mary G. Cimirro, age 80, of Kearny, NJ, passed away surrounded by her family on January 7, 2026 at Hackensack University Medical Center.
Mary was the daughter of the late James and Marie Doran. She was born and raised in Scranton, PA and moved to Kearny, NJ while in high school. She was a graduate of Queen of Peace High School and Caldwell College. She spent her career as a Physical Education Instructor in the River Vale school district where she was a teacher, coach, and mentor to many of her students. She loved her work and was very proud of all the students she had impacted over the years.
Mary loved spending time with her family and was especially proud of all her nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews. She loved watching sports and staying active in the local restaurant community. She would meet local friends for dinner several nights a week at her favorite places such as Lasonni’s, Michaels Riverside, Roma and Angelos.
Wife of the late Larry, she is survived by her brother and sister; James Doran (his wife Helen) and Patricia Schwarz (her husband Louis) along with her cherished nephews and nieces; Brian, Johnathan, Allison, Christopher, Kasey and Sara along with their families.
Memorial visiting will be on Saturday January 17, 2026, from 2:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. at The Armitage Wiggins Funeral Home 596 Belgrove Drive in Kearny with a prayer service at 2:00 p.m. The cremation was handled privately. Mary’s ashes will be placed in The Holy Cross Cemetery Mausoleum in the near future with her beloved husband Larry.
