James A. Anderson, Sr., of Kearny, passed away on October 2, 2026. He was 84. His cremation was handled privately. Jim’s funeral service will be on Thursday the 8th at 9:30 a.m. in St. Philip Church 488 Saddle River Road in Saddle Brook. After the church service his ashes will be brought to Rosedale Cemetery, 408 Orange Road in Montclair for his committal service.
Jim is the husband of Joeann (nee Irvine) and father of; Kathleen Myre (Brian), James Anderson, Jr., (Carrie), Janet DiNapoli (Cos) and David Anderson. Brother of; George and Jack Anderson, Mary McCluskey and the late Norman Anderson, Sis Hall, Beth Anderson and Gilbert Anderson. He is also survived by his grandchildren; Jamie, Jason, Colin, Michael and Samantha.
Jim was a retired Shipping Manager from Fiske Brothers in Newark and was a member of The Elks in Kearny. In lieu of flowers kindly consider a donation to Alzheimers Research.
