Josephine A. Altieri (nee Mango) passed away surrounded by her family on March 27, 2026. She lived a beautiful life for 89 years. Born in Jersey City, she moved to Boonton 30 years ago. Visiting will be on Tuesday March 31, 2026 beginning at 9:00 a.m. in the Armitage Wiggins Funeral Home 596 Belgrove Drive in Kearny. Her Mass will be the same day at 11:30 a.m. in Queen of Peace Church and burial will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery, both in North Arlington.
Josephine was the wife of the late Francis Altieri and mother of Francis Altieri, Mercedes Witowsky and Vincent Altieri. Sister of Frances Buonavolonta and the late Dominick Mango. She is also survived by many adoring grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, life long friends and countless others who called her ‘grandma’.
Above all else, Josephine was a wonderful wife and mother. She always listened, comforted and nurtured those in her life. She will be missed and lovingly remembered on earth and welcomed into the loving arms of our most Heavenly Father.
