Mary M. Smeltzer 75, of Kearny died on June 15, 2017.
Visiting will be at The Armitage & Wiggins Funeral Home 596 Belgrove Drive Kearny on Monday 2-4 & 6-8pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be officiated on Tuesday at 10am at St. Cecilia's Church, Kearny. Cremation will be private.
Born in Newark, Mary lived in The Vailsburg Section of Newark moving to Kearny 39 years ago.
She was an underwriter with Chubb & Son Insurance in Bernardsville for 18 years. Mary was an avid New York Yankees Fan.
She is the beloved wife of George Smeltzer. Mother of Michelle Smeltzer (Joel Hartman) and Christine Tanis (Edward). Grandmother of Jennifer, James. Anthony, Aidan and Jillian. Great Grandmother of Brooklyn and Bennett. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews. Mary was predeceased by her sisters Joan Baker and Rose Shevchik.
