Edward R. Edwards “Teddy” passed away on September 8, 2022. He was 84. Born in Edwardsville, PA., he lived many years in Rockaway before moving to North Arlington 8 years ago. Visiting will be on Sunday September 11, 2022 from 2 until 6 p.m. at the Armitage Wiggins Funeral Home 596 Belgrove Drive, Kearny. Mass will be on Monday morning at 11:00 a.m. in Queen of Peace Church and entombment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery.
Ted was a Traffic Engineer for Foster Wheeler in Clinton, NJ before retirement. Fiercely proud of his Ironbound roots, he was a Past President of the Ironbound Irish Association and was named their Irishman of The Year. He was a former Grand Knight and currently a member of The Knights of Columbus in North Arlington. He was also a member of The Ironbound Executives Association. Ted was the proud owner of Teddy’s Tavern in Down Neck Newark, which he operated for many years with his lovely wife, Eileen throughout the 1970s. Ted was most known and loved for his quick wit, jokes and funny one-liners.
Husband of the late Eileen (nee Brady), he was the cherished brother of Nancy Hebrew (late William), Grace Krueger (Arthur), Gary Edwards (Linda) and the late Saralou Marchak. Also surviving are many loving nieces, nephews and their families. In lieu of flowers kindly consider a donation to St. Jude Childrens Hospital or The Tunnels to Towers Fund.
