Regina Conlon

CONLON, Regina (née Snodgrass), went to her eternal rest on 5/23/2025. She was survived by her beloved husband Thomas of 54 years, a son, Michael (Martha), and a daughter, Regina (Clint) Vinacco. She also leaves four cherished grandchildren: Brianna, Tommy, Aidan and Sean. She was predeceased by her mother, Regina (née Thiem), father Charles, twin sister Marianne and brother Joseph. She also leaves behind many beloved friends and relatives.

She attended Holy Cross Grammar School and St. Vincent Academy High School. She received a BA degree from Rutgers University- Newark and a Master of Public Administration (MPA) from Fairleigh Dickinson University- Rutherford. She also held a Certified Public Manager Certification from the State of New Jersey.

She devoted her career, primarily, to government service working as a N.J. State Unemployment Claims Examiner, in Hudson County Superior Court, and for 23 years for the State Board of Public Utilities retiring as a Bureau Chief. She also worked for Dr. Harold Wiener of North Arlington.

Gina had a passion for music, especially singing. Over the years, she sang with Holy Cross Choir (32 years), Queen of Peace Choir, Community Chorus of Belleville, and the Nelly Picker Singers. She loved singing with the Choraleers, a group made up of Jr. Woman’s Club, Arlington EMD and Woman’s Club. The group sang around the area for hospitals, nursing homes, institutions, community groups and churches. Gina also had her own singing programs and did solo work, especially weddings and funerals.

Gina loved volunteer work. In her younger years, she was active in the Jr. Woman’s Club of Arlington where she held a number of department chairs and offices. While serving as Club President, the club was honored to be named number 1 of the Diamond Dozen Clubs. She was also a member of the EMD of Arlington, President of Boy Scout Mothers Club Troop 340, Holy Cross Rosary Society.

In her middle years, she had to curtail her volunteerism as her husband became a 15-year member of the National Board of U.S. Submarine Veterans. He served in many offices and chairmanships, as such, Gina traveled with him around the country visiting the various bases.

Family was always a priority to Gina and, in her later years, until her own illness, she helped care for many sick and dying relatives.

Visiting will be at the Armitage & Wiggins Funeral Home 596 Belgrove Drive Kearny on Friday May 30th from 3:00-7:00 pm. Mass will be on Saturday at 10:00 am in Holy Cross Church. Interment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery
