Julia M. Dreisbach


Julia M. Dreisbach, 91, of Kearny passed away peacefully on Tuesday, January 12, 2025 at home.

 

The viewing will be held in the Armitage Wiggins Funeral Home (armitagewiggins.com), 596 Belgrove Drive, Kearny, NJ on Friday, January 16 from 4-8pm. The funeral Mass will be celebrated in St. Stephen's Church, Kearny on Saturday at 10:00a.m. The interment will follow in Holy Cross Cemetery.

 

Julia was born in Jersey City to Lillian and John McMillan and lived in Kearny for over 60 years. She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Albert W. Dreisbach, Jr. and son, Joseph Dreisbach.  She is survived by her children, Albert Dreisbach, M.D., Betty Dreisbach, Grace Mack (Dave), Jack Dreisbach (Diane) and Rich Dreisbach (Tina) and her grandchildren Scott, Kate, Megan, Jake, Eric, Skyler, Kyle, Jordan and Riley and her great grandson, Wes. She also leaves behind many beloved cousins and friends, her McMillan nieces and nephews and, Margaret Flomo, who provided live-in care, support and kindness to Julia and Joseph for many years.

 

Julia earned her degree in special education and was a founding and long-time board member of Pathways to Independence, Inc, an amazing non-profit organization formed in 1978 that provides support services to adults with disabilities, including providing support for her son, Joseph. In 2010, she was  honored by the Hudson County Board of Freeholders as a Women’s History Month Honoree for her work with Pathways.

 

Julia truly touched the lives of everyone who knew her. She will be remembered for her warmth, kindness, strength and humor.  She leaves behind a legacy of love.
